Shri Amit Saran, is an officer of Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers,1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineer with MBA in Operations Management. He has vast experience in Operations and Maintenance over various Zonal Railways and has been instrumental in design validation and field testing of a variety of Rolling stock of Railways and Metro rail systems in Research, Design and Standards Organisation.
In Ministry of Mines, he has dealt with issues of Aluminium sector and International Cooperation in Mining Sector besides administrative matters of Geological Survey of India, Indian Bureau of Mines and National Aluminium company.
He has been instrumental in formulating the National Non-Ferrous Metal Scrap Recycling Framework, 2020, developing the Non-Ferrous Metal Import Monitoring System and setting up of Khanij Bidesh India Limited besides steering the National Mineral exploration Trust to enhance mineral exploration in the country.
